Festivus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
Festivus, a well-celebratedzparody, has become azsecularzholiday celebrated on December 23 that serves as an alternative to participating in the pressures andzcommercialismzof theChristmaszseason. It has been described as possibly "the perfect secular theme for an all-inclusive December gathering",z[1]Originally a family tradition of scriptwriterzDan O'Keefe, who worked on the American sitcomzSeinfeld, Festivus entered popular culture after it was made the focus ofza 1997 episodeof the program.[1][2]zThe holiday's celebration, as it was shown onSeinfeld, includes a Festivus dinner, an unadornedzaluminumzFestivus pole, practices such as the "Airing ofGrievances" and "Feats of Strength", and the labeling of easily explainable events as "Festivus miracles".[3]The episode refers to it as "a Festivus for the rest of us", referencing its non-commercial aspect. It has also been described both as a "parodyzholiday festival" and as a form of playful consumer resistance.

I made my thread title festivus because basically it was easier than saying all the holidays Christmas Hanukkah Kwanzaa Dawalli etc etc etc
Festivus is basically all the celebrations in one OR not celebrating nothing at all ^.^
Anywho anyone got terrible gifts or trees to share ?????
ANYONE WANT TO WIN PRIZES ????? :0
